Audience Participation Stories
Boy in a Toyshop, A — This is a story of a boy whose mother accidently left him in a large store. Beavers follow the actions of the storyteller. Brown Beaver's Surprise Birthday — This is a story where the Beavers are the sound effects. Brown Beaver has a birthday coming up and his friends try to arrange a surprise birthday party for him. Frontier Thanksgiving, A — A sound and action story about a settler and Indian both hunting for a turkey. Fun at the Pond — Beavers respond with actions to keywords in this variation of the Beaver story, Fun at the Pond. Ghost Story, A — On a dark and windy night in October, a timid young girl sits alone in a coach. An old woman and dark man soon join her, but the old woman leaps in fear from the moving coach. Beavers make a sound whenever their character is mentioned. Indian Hunter, The — When a tribe goes hungry, an Indian brave goes in search of food for his people. Beavers make a sound whenever their character is mentioned. King with a Terrible Temper, The — Beavers make a sound whenever their character is mentioned. The king has a major problem with a hideous monster. He will give the hand in marriage of one of his three daughter to anyone who will save the kingdom. Mrs. Jones Shopping Cart — For this story, each shopping item has an action and/or sound. On the Farm — This story has both action and sounds. It covers the daily chores of a farmer, his wife, farm animals and poultry. One Day in the Life of Three Little Beavers — An action story that gets everyone moving. Try this one on during a Parents' Night. Santa's Annual Visit — Ask everyone in the group join in and see how Santa goes on his annual trip around the world. Everyone follows you and does what you do and say as you read this story. Story of Scouting and Guiding, The — A somewhat longish action story about the origins of Scouting and Guiding. Story of the Moor Monster, The — When Harry Harper and his dog go exploring they discover a Moor Monster. Actions are with feet, hands and voice. Treasure Map, The — Ah, me hearties! So you got a pirate theme, does you now? Well I've a story that'll rip the barnacles from the sides of an old frigate. Change this action story t'the way you wants, but read it t'your youngsters t'stir their wee imaginations and get thems ready for t'theme.
