The Glory of the Day
Happiness is found in quiet ways,
In sharing common thoughts with kin and friends,
In little gifts of smiles throughout our days,
A note or letter that a dear one sends.
Happiness is found in nature's store
of beauties that surround the countryside:
The peaceful sky, bright mountains, fields, and
Oceans with the calling of their tide.
Happiness is found in the little things,
A mother's kiss, the clasp of a loved one's hand,
In children's laughter, and in the birds that sing
In greening trees with their majestic stand.
As dawn is to the glory of the day,
Blessed the heart that knows the happy way.
